BodyTalk Surprises and Informs
I had always thought that I was very tuned in to my body and the messages it was giving me but the reality was that stress and emotional upheaval have taken a toll on my body. I am a surgeon's dream patient, lots of organs regularly needing fixed. I was definitely tuned in to where it hurt.
My Body Talk experience has been enlightening in that it has brought together the physical, spiritual and emotional elements that affect me and helped prevent all those negative medical signs to which I was so used to reacting. The body can show things that are happening before they get out of hand and indicate how to fix them.
When I first went to see Susan I was emotional, skeptical and in the midst of big changes in my life. As I continued to see her I began to feel less emotional, more accepting and spiritually balanced in the midst of all the turmoil around me. My body began to react less stressfully. I began to feel more in tune with my spirit and my emotions were appropriate and more controlled. I felt healthier and able to cope with the stresses life was sending my way.
I recommend Body Talk as a way to bring focus to your life and holistic wellness to your person. We are so multi-dimensional and I found this is a way to bring all those dimensions together for a more balanced life.

My BodyTalk sessions have been meaningful beyond my powers to express. But I will try. I was already convinced of the importance to health, of being in touch with the body. You could call me an avid consumer of body-based therapies. Of all I’ve undertaken (12 years of Bioenergetics, tons of massage, 2 1/2 years of yoga... ) BodyTalk is the most interactive and the most instructive.
I’ve gained a new awareness of the complexity of body. For a self-help book rebel, it’s so simple. And enjoyable. I always come away from the meetings with food for thought, often write at length to remember the sequence and the interrelationships, and they always gather meaning as I ponder them. (I’m drinking my water religiously!) I’d go so far as to say that one need not know anything about the discipline, the assumptions or the body of knowledge of BodyTalk for it to work. Enough to say I have a healthy respect for the mysteries of the organism we live in. I believe in the efficacy of Susan’s interventions. The power of “mind-intent” moves me more than any knowledge. It has worked a minor revolution in my attitude to maintaining the good health I enjoy.
Susan’s accurate intuitions as to where there are problems is BodyTalk 101 -- she zeroed in on my right leg just after my dermatologist diagnosed a basal cell cancer – and it linked to dehydration with R leg, then Cellular repair came up: the body replaces all the cells in 3 mo to a year; so, next cycle, we’ll tell / suggest it to replace those inherited lethal genes, that, eg, conducive to skin cancer, with those that don’t -- a way to focus on prevention & positive thinking Association of the adrenal gland and grief: made me think of how in stressful situations a devilish energy mobilizes to protect against pain and sorrow; a pattern I associate with all emotional relations -- this line of inquiry has led me to re-examine my response patterns and I’ve recruited a counsellor to help
Linkage of my father’s strained emotional relationships & darkness to my emotional complexion, especially the linkage of self-esteem and sexuality -- a productive line of inquiry & affirmative of my struggle to find a better way to live -- felt like 6 months of therapy in 1/2 hour! A silly quote: “have you hugged your spleen today?” -- got me thinking of those elusive organs liver / gallbladder &c, the glands, the chakras (even more elusive)... and their interactions with the big obvious perceptive/proprioceptive ones, brain/heart/lungs/stomach/skin -- self-knowledge is an important first step on the road to self-care.

It makes so much sense to ask the body (as well as heart and soul) what it needs! That's what I like about Bodytalk. It is a modality that does not impose from the outside. In working with Susan I have experienced a deep movement in my emotional healing. Along with her skill as facilitator of this work, Susan brings warmth, depth, and humour to each session.

Susan Stenson is a gifted, practical, and intuitive translator of the mind-body. I found that her work complimented and stabilized important insights and changes that I was making on emotional and spiritual planes. The process seems mysterious, but Susan's respectful and knowledgeable approach inspires confidence and trust. Very useful!!

Susan Stenson is a kind and friendly therapist. She is also very sensitive to the needs of her clients. The combination of her own personal skills and temperament, and the intuitive but precise approach of the Bodytalk technique make for deep and clear therapy sessions for me. I always feel better afterward and I leave with a new way of viewing my life issues.

I do believe that what you have done for Bonnie and me and countless others is a real gift. It is interesting how open one can be on your "couch"! Ego needs seem to disappear...and what a blessing that is....your acceptance and intuitive understanding allow this I think.
You are an angel...

BodyTalk Interview
An Interview with Anita Vaughn by Bonnie McComb
Bonnie: How long have you done BodyTalk?
Anita: About two years. I was one of Susan’s first clients when she was first getting her hours to be certified. I was an instant BT addict and I have been going ever since.
Bonnie: How does it help you?
Anita: The thing I like is it’s a holistic approach that deals with the whole person. Every visit is a surprise. It’s like you get a present.
Bonnie: What do you mean?
Anita: It’s like unwrapping a surprise package because I never know what is going to come out. I get revelations that immediately fit and feel right.
Bonnie: How has BT changed you?
Anita: I am more aware of how past events and traumas can create imbalances and illness without my knowledge. My body can tell a practitioner what I need and where it needs to be tuned up.
Bonnie: Is it awkward to have someone who is a friend do BodyTalk on you?
Anita: No. I feel very comfortable with Susan . She has helped me with Reiki in the past. Susan has counsellor training and she is incredibly empathic and intuitive. I think the counselling training makes a difference in her approach. It’s a deeper level of the same kind of relationship we’ve always had.
Bonnie: Why do you recommend BodyTalk?
Anita: At the end of every session, I feel so high just like I’ve had a major tune-up. I feel wonderful when I leave there.
Bonnie: In your opinion, who could benefit from BodyTalk?
Anita: Anyone interested in knowing him or herself better who wants to iron out their kinks or find an integrated approach to self-awareness and health.
Bonnie: If you were to describe BodyTalk in one sentence, what would you say?
Anita: It’s a global, integrated holistic approach to health and well-being.
BODYTALK TESTIMONAL

I am so happy with the results that my husband has been having with our BodyTalk sessions together that I thought I would pass it on to you.
I first took Access in July of 2008 and began doing it on myself every day. It became an important part of each day and as routine as brushing my teeth. I noticed an immediate sense of well being. Then I took Module One and Two and was overwhelmed with the breath of information so when I decided to be brave and start sharing this with my husband I simply began with the familiar. On December 4th I did a complete Access session with him.
He is a healthy man but for almost three decades his body has run HOT. It was as if someone had flipped his internal thermostat as high as it would go and left it there. He wore shorts and T Shirts in the winter and suffered miserably in the summer. Another issue was appetite. The man was hungry!
After the full Access Session I timidly tapped out his Hypothalamus and his Pancreas Reflex Point. In short I lacked the confidence to feel I knew what I was doing. Innate Wisdom, however, does know. The very next day my husband, with a sense of wonderment, noticed that he was chilly. Plus his appetite and food choices matched his needs and the weight began to tumble off. The first week he lost 9 pounds. He wasn’t thinking about food—that was a big change too. He has dieted before—you know-- the white knuckle diet where you obsess about the food you aren’t eating. You can sense failure from day one but you fiercely battle on until you snap and go back to bad habits and regain all pounds lost and add a few more.
This time none of that has happened. He feels at peace in his body. He has now lost 31 pounds and is still putting on sweaters and socks and slippers. He simply feels good. He loves his sessions, which we do almost every day.
